Brazil Visa Types

You can apply for an online visa for tourism, business, journalism, transit, medical treatment, family, and voluntary activities from the comfort of your home with Best Same Day. Below, we review the different visa types and their respective features, so you know the one that will suit your requirements.

From December 30, 2020, all arrivals, both foreigners and citizens, will be obliged to show proof of a negative PCR test, taken no longer than 72 hours before departure of the inbound flight. Any foreigner/tourist who does not present proof of the negative test before the flight may not be permitted to board.

Brazil tourist visa is required for citizens of China.

According the policy of UK Consulate, each applicant is required to submit in person. But Best Sameday could assist you on filling out visa application forms, making appointment for submission and reviewing visa documents.

Please provide original documents and not photocopies. All documents must be in English or Welsh. Otherwise they must be accompanied by a full translation that can be independently verified by the Home Office. You are possibly required to submit additional documents which are not listed in the official checklist

1) Traveler’s Health Declaration (DSV): filled out (in print or digitally) agreeing to sanitary measures that must be complied with during the traveler’s time in Brazil. Note: the Brazilian government has not issued the specifics of this document yet but it is understood that the form will be distributed prior to boarding the airplane to Brazil. For further questions on this document, please contact your airline.

2) Negative COVID-19 test: specifically, a document from a laboratory test (RT-PCR) for screening for infection by SARS-CoV-2, with a negative/non-reactive result, performed within 72 hours prior to the moment of boarding; Please see below further clarifications from the Brazilian government regarding the required COVID-19 test:

• The COVID-19 test must be a document from a laboratory test (RT-PCR) for screening for infection by SARS-CoV-2, with a negative/non-reactive result, performed within 72 hours prior to the moment of boarding;
• The document must be presented in Portuguese, Spanish or English;
• The test must be carried out in a laboratory recognized by the health authority of the country of departure;
• Children under the age of twelve who are traveling with a companion are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test provided that all companions present the required negative/non-reactive COVID-19 tests. However, children aged two or over and less than twelve years old who are traveling unaccompanied must present proof of the negative/non-reactive COVID-19 test;
• Children under the age of two years are exempt from presenting a negative COVID-19 test;
• In the event of travel to Brazil with connections or stopovers where the traveler remains in a restricted area of the airport, the seventy-two hour period applies for prior to boarding the first flight of the trip.
• While Brazil has opened its border to visitors traveling by air, U.S. citizens considering international travel should be aware that Brazil remains at a Level 4 Travel Advisory (Do Not Travel) and continues to experience high daily case numbers of COVID-19.
• While Brazil no longer requires proof of health insurance to enter the country, the U.S. Department of State continues to recommend that all travelers purchase insurance before departing the United States or verify that their existing health insurance will cover them while abroad. The U.S. government does not provide health insurance for U.S. citizens overseas and does not pay medical bills.
• Effective December 25, international flights to Brazil originating in or passing through the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are prohibited on a temporary basis. Foreign travelers who are coming from or passing through the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the last fourteen days will not be permitted to embark on flights to Brazil.
• Foreigners who are in a land border country and need to cross the border to embark on a flight back to their country of residence may enter Brazil with authorization from the Federal Police and must follow the below steps:
1. The foreigner must obtain an official note from the Embassy or consulate of the country of citizenship (U.S. citizens should reach out to the closest Embassy or consulate for assistance);
2. When crossing the border, the air tickets for the flight to the home country must be presented to the immigration official;
3. After approval of the request, the foreigner must go directly to the airport upon crossing the land border.

• Brazilian citizens, born or naturalized
• Permanent residents of Brazil
• National Immigration Registry Card Holders (Registro Nacional Migratório – RNM)
• Foreign professionals employed by a non-governmental aid organization recognized by the Brazilian government
• Foreign officials accredited by the Brazilian government
• Spouse, domestic partner, son or daughter, father or mother, or caregiver of a Brazilian citizen
• Any person whose entrance into Brazil is deemed by the government to be in the public interest

Travelers in transit in one of the following categories:

• Cargo delivery
• Passengers required to disembark for aircraft refueling or repairs
• Flight crews

• If applicant is a permanent resident but has an expired Brazilian ID card for Foreign Citizens (RNE); and
a) is over the age of 60 years; or
b) is a person with special needs, please provide copy of the expired Brazilian ID card for Foreign Citizens (RNE). (Requirements C, E, F, G are waived);

• If applicant is the bearer of a Permanent or Temporary Visa and has requested an extension of the visa or its conversion to a Permanent Visa, please present a notarized copy of the protocol issued by the Federal police of Brazil, by the Ministry of Justice of Brazil or by the National Council of Immigration (“Conselho Nacional de Imigração”). (Requirements C, E, F, G are waived)

• Presentation of the original birth certificate or a notarized copy. Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be Legalized by MFA/FAO

• The proof of means of support during the applicants stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents or other sponsor and proof of relationship;

Special requirements for minors who are travelling unaccompanied or with only one of the parents or legal guardians:

• Presentation of an Authorization for Brazilian Visa Issuance for Minors, signed by both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) at a public notary(this form may be downloaded here. Please note that if both parents or legal guardians (in which case legal proof of guardianship is required) are travelling with the minor an Authorization for Brazilian Visa Issuance for Minors is NOT necessary;

If applicant is a minor that is being adopted by a Brazilian national:

• A notarized copy of the judicial decision on the adoption and/or any other proof of the adoption process. Additionally, provide notarized copy of legal decision or notarized written authorization of both parents or guardians if the minor is travelling unaccompanied to Brazil or in the company of only one of the parents or guardians. (Requirements C, E, F, G are waived).


• If the applicant intends to take part in athletic competitions, performing arts events, conferences or seminars, please provide copy of letter from sponsor/organizer providing specific information on the activity to be performed and location and duration of the activity/event. The letter must state that the participant will not receive payment and that no tickets will be sold for the event.

IMPORTANT: Unfortunately, at this time, Best Same Day does not provide full service for tourist visas to Brazil. All applicants must apply in person at the nearest Embassy of Brazil . Information below is for reference purposes only. Please address all questions to the Embassy of Brazil directly.

To apply for a travel visa to Brazil requires the following documents:

A. Original, signed China passportCertificate. with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
B. Passport Photo: 1 Include a passport style photo, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a surcharge associated with this service.
C. Proof of means of support. Bank and/or credit card statements for the last three months, extracted in recent 10 days.
D. Itinerary. Print out of itinerary of round trip ticket or a statement from a travel agency, addressed to the consular service of the embassy/consulate, containing the name of passenger, the confirmed itinerary, flight number and arrival/departure dates.
E. Employment Letter.
• If you are employed , a signed original letter on company letterhead from your employer granting your leave of absence and including the following information: your name, position, salary and date of hire. your employer’s name and address in Chinese characters as well as the telephone and fax number.
• If retired , a Retirement Certificate indicating the amount of the applicant’s pension.
• If you are a student travelling during periods other than school holidays, an original letter from the school confirming that he/she is enrolled and in good standing and that the school has approved his/her absence.
F. Hotel Reservations. Valid hotel reservation fully covers the duration in Malaysia.
G. Letter of Invitation.. If staying with friends or family, a letter of invitation from the host in Brazil, can be used instead of the hotel reservation. The letter should be addressed to the Embassy of Brazil, Visa Section and should state the relationship to the applicant, the dates of the visit, and the address and phone number where you will be staying.
H.   Previous travel evidence. Evidence of any previous travel (e.g. previous passports, etc.).
I.   Authorization Letter. Complete and sign the Authorization Letter.
It is up to the consulate to make a final decision about the number of entries of a visa.
