🇬🇧 United Kingdom Visa Requirements

Documents required for U.K Tourist Visa:

 1. Visa application form: Please submit a signed printout of the online application form for the United Kingdom, indicating that payment has been made online to the British Consulate. Please note that applicants using our service must select either the Standard or Priority service when completing the online application. The fees paid to Best Sameday Passport & Visa Services are in addition to the fee paid online.

2. Original passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from the United Kingdom and should have at least 2 blank visa pages.

3. Proof of status: Provide a copy of your Green Card or any other proof of legal status in the US, such as a copy of your I-20, DS-2019, H1B approval notice, etc.

4. Biometrics: Include the biometrics appointment confirmation sheet bearing the original stamp of the USCIS center. Please note that this document is valid for 15 days from the date it is stamped.

5. Itinerary: Submit a copy of your itinerary or flight reservation from an airline or travel agent. Please refrain from purchasing tickets until your visa has been issued.

6. Bank statement: Provide original bank statements for the past 3 months. The most recent statement should demonstrate sufficient funds for travel, approximately $300 per day.

7. Employment letter: Obtain an employment verification letter from your employer on business letterhead, including contact details. The letter should state that a leave of absence has been granted, specify the purpose and duration of your trip, and confirm your intention to return to your current job. If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. Students should submit an official letter from their school indicating good standing and registration for the upcoming semester. Retirees should provide proof of their retirement fund.

8. Hotel Reservation: Include a copy of your hotel reservations, ensuring that your name is listed on the reservation.

9. Personal invitation: If you plan to visit friends or family, provide a letter of invitation that includes the contact information of your host and yourself, the purpose and duration of the visit, confirmation of accommodation including the address, and the signature and date. You will also need to provide proof of your host’s status in the United Kingdom, such as a copy of their United Kingdom passport’s information page or, if they are not a citizen of the United Kingdom, copies of their United Kingdom residence permit and their national passport’s information pages.

10. Host’s Bank Statement: If you will be receiving financial support from a host or other sponsor in the United Kingdom, please provide a copy of your bank statement. The invitation letter from your host should clearly state the types of support they will be providing, such as financial assistance and accommodations.

11. Proof of Financial Support: Submit proof of financial means to support yourself during your stay in the United Kingdom, such as bank statements from the last 2 months, scholarship letters, or grant letters.

12. UK Visas and Immigration Checklist: Please include the United Kingdom Visas and Immigration checklist along with your application. You can find a sample of the checklist on our website.

13. Proof of assets: Include proof of any land ownership, such as mortgage statements or land deeds.

14. Proof of Home Address: Provide documents showing your current place of residence, such as mortgage statements or rental agreements.

15. Proof of Family Remaining in the US While Traveling to the UK: If your family will be staying in the US while you travel to the UK, please provide a letter stating who will be staying (or if no family members will remain), a marriage certificate, and copies of their passports.

Additional information:
If you will be receiving financial support from a sponsor-
  • If you will be receiving financial support from a host or other sponsor in the United Kingdom, please provide a copy of that individual’s bank statement. Additionally, the invitation letter from your host should specifically state the types of support they will be providing, including financial assistance and accommodations.
If your family is remaining in the US while you’re traveling to the UK
  • If your family will be staying in the US while you travel to the UK, please provide a letter stating who will be staying (or if no family members will remain), a marriage certificate, and copies of their passports.

Documents required for U.K Business Visa:

 1. Visa application form. Please submit a printed copy of the online application form for the United Kingdom, which should be signed and indicate that payment has been made online to the British Consulate. Kindly note that applicants using our service must select either the Standard or Priority service option when completing the online application. The fees paid to Best Sameday Passport & Visa Services are in addition to the fee paid online.

2. Original passport. You must provide your original passport, which should be signed and have a minimum validity of 6 months remaining, as well as at least 2 blank visa pages.

3. Proof of status. Please include a copy of your Green Card (both sides) or any other proof of your legal status in the US (such as a copy of your I-20, US visa, H1B approval notice, etc.). If you hold an F1 or H1B US visa, please also provide a copy of your I-94 document (attached to your passport). Please note that we cannot assist individuals with US B1/B2 visas at this time.

4. Biometrics. Submit the biometrics appointment confirmation sheet, which should bear the original stamp of the USCIS center. Please be aware that this document is valid for 15 days from the date it is stamped.

5. Employment letter. Obtain an employment verification letter from your employer, printed on business letterhead and including contact details. The letter should state that you have been granted a leave of absence, specify the purpose and duration of your trip, and confirm that you will be returning to your current job. If you are self-employed, please provide a copy of your business license and tax return. For students, an official letter from your school indicating your good standing and registration for the upcoming semester is required. Retirees should submit proof of their retirement fund.

6. Business Support Letter. Include a business letter from the US sending company (a soft copy is acceptable). The letter should be printed on company letterhead, addressed to “The Consulate of The United Kingdom, Visa Section,” and signed by a senior manager. The business letter should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify the employment status/position held in the company).
  • State the nature of the business to be conducted (e.g., business meetings, contract negotiations) and provide the names and addresses of the companies to be contacted in The United Kingdom.
  • Specify the type and desired validity of the visa (e.g., a one-year multiple-entry business visa).
  • Guarantee sufficient funds for travel.
  • Specify the place of accommodation in The United Kingdom.

7. Business invitation. Obtain a business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in The United Kingdom (a soft copy is acceptable). The letter should be printed on company letterhead, addressed to “The Consulate of The United Kingdom, Visa Section,” and signed by a senior manager. The business letter should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify the employment status/position held in the company).
  • State the nature of the business to be conducted (e.g., business meetings, contract negotiations) and provide the names and addresses of the companies to be contacted in The United Kingdom.
